beer789 Potential criminal charges
Two police officers could face charges in relation to the death of Dalian Atkinson. The Independent Office for Police Conduct says it has referred the death of the former Aston Villa star to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider potential criminal charges against two police officers.

The 48-year-old former striker was Tasered in the street where he grew up in Telford after West Mercia Police were called to an incident on August 15 last year. Paramedics and doctors were unable to revive Atkinson, despite administering CPR on him for more than an hour after he was taken to hospital.

Voluntary offer
Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed that he offered to play for Aston Villa for nothing in the summer. Prior to the takeover of new majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, Villa were in a critical state following the failure to achieve promotion via the play-offs last season.

Agbonlahor, who was released beer789 by Villa in the summer after his contract expired, has said that, such was the desperate situation at the club and their inability to make any acquisitions in the transfer window at the time, he instructed his agent to contact then manager Steve Bruce offering to play for his boyhood club voluntarily.

The next step
Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor remains on the look-out for his next career challenge after confirming his desire to play on - but he has already turned down a host of offers from around the world. Agbonlahor, who turned 32 earlier this month, was released by Villa in the summer after serving the club for 17 years.

He made just under 400 appearances in claret and blue, scoring almost 100 times, after making his full debut in 2005 under David O’Leary. Having been used to such familiar surroundings for a significant length of time, the next step hasn’t been straightforward. beer789 Agbonlahor has entertained offers from the UK and abroad, but he has explained why, after three months into the new season, he remains without a club.
